Class 4
Welcome to Class 4's page. This page is where you'll find updates on what we are doing in class - including the term's homework, class newsletters and photos of different things we are getting up to in school.
At the start of the second Autumn half-term, we had an interesting and enjoyable trip to Buxton. Here, we learnt more about Buxton's history, and the importance of water to the town. This linked to our learning about rivers and the water cycle in geography and science. We particularly enjoyed catching the train and the virtual reality balloon flight over Georgian Buxton!
In maths, we continued learning about four digit numbers, and have spent time rounding them to the nearest multiple of 10, 100 and 1000. We've also learnt to add and subtract four digit numbers using the column method. Our new story, Leaf, has informed our English lessons and having written an 'Outsider Narrative' about a lost polar bear, we've now begun work on our polar bear fact files. We're looking forward to researching these magnificent creatures and writing an informative text about them.
