Here are some pictures of our art display board. Twice a year, we seek inspiration from the work of different artists in school. All children produce an image based on one of these and two are selected from each year group to be put into into special frames.

Secret Postcard Exhibition

All the children at Taxal and Fernilee CE Primary School have made a postcard at school for a Secret Postcard exhibition, which is being held at Whaley Bridge Coworkers CIC, 8 Old Road, Whaley Bridge, over the summer holidays. Everyone is invited to come and view all of the artworks on several “Open Days” and they will be given an opportunity to buy any of the work on show by “Silent Auction”. The artworks will be displayed anonymously and identified only by a number. All proceeds from sales of the children’s artwork will go directly back to their school, and parents/carers will be given the first opportunity to buy their child’s postcard.

Exhibition & Silent Auction Dates:

Friday 1 August, 3.30–7pm – Opening night with drinks & cake
Saturday 2 August, 10am–12pm
Friday 12 September, 3.30–7pm
Saturday 13 September, 10am–12pm
Friday 3 October, 3.30.-7.00pm – Final viewing, bid announcements & collection

How it works:
Come along to one of the exhibition days, identify your child’s postcard, and place a bid (if you'd like to buy it!) by writing your offer and the postcard number on a slip, sealing it in an envelope, and popping it into our secure box.

Adult created postcards will be sold and the proceeds split between Blythe House Hospice and Whaley Bridge Coworkers CIC.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate creativity, support the school and own an original piece of art! Thank you so much for your support.
